  I like this op-shop for the quality and reasonable prices (although some items are over-priced). However, there is a man there, and I assume he is on the RSPCA payroll, who is exceptionally rude. I was once there after 4pm. I had no idea when the shop closed and assumed it was 5pm closing. I was in the background, other customers were in the store, and this man blustered in and was so rude in his tone to a customer in the front of the store, saying that his volunteers had to leave. Well, bully for him, but the volunteers could have announced closing time much earlier. And the tone was completely uncalled for. When I appeared, I explained that I wasn't aware of closing time, and he was surprised I was there, and was slightly less rude, but still abrupt. The second time, he was at the counter and I asked about donating a washing machine. Now my machine is in perfect working condition, and I could easily sell it, but I thought it would be good to give to the RSPCA. This man talked to me as if I was a criminal, saying that they would have to see it operating because they weren't picking up other peoples' junk. And the way he said it was with a long, hard look as if I was trying to do just that. I felt embarrassed that he would treat me in such a humiliating manner. I had also asked if they pick up clothing donations. The man then started to talk about arranging a time to collect the items. I had decided not to donate anything based on his rudeness, and I made an excuse re why it couldn't be done right then. And I will never donate a thing while he is in the store. What a pig of a man. If the RSPCA wants customers, I suggest they send him to some training in good manners and customer relations. We are the people who support your shop by purchases and donations. My washing machine is worth $200 at least (it's a 7kg one and in good condition), and the clothing I would have donated is all good. By the way, I'm not a delicate flower, and not given to taking offense, either. I have great sympathy for when people are tired, or just having a bad day. But this man is a pig, and affecting sales, I promise.

  Exactly as other customer described. Ok prices, wonderfull volunteers but a absolute pig of a manager on the payroll. Rude and quite nasty. Its no wonder they have a back room full of stuff to sell all the time and cant sell it quick enough with that attitude towards customers. Will be donating to the salvation army from here on in until this man is no longer the manager.
